Polywad Shotshells
For Law Enforcement
High Performance 12 Gauge 2-3/4" Sabot Slug Excellent accuracy out of smooth bore shotguns Reduced felt recoil, perfect for the urban setting Manufactured exclusively in the United States.
 Formed 68 caliber QS12MPRS
Sabot Slugs prior to loading.
Quik-Shok QS12MPRS Sabot Slug solves the over penetration problem facing many Police Agencies. In close quarters, Quik-Shok does not penetrate more than 13 to 15 inches, while at distance, the Quik-Shok Sabot Slug performs more efficiently than any other Sabot Slug ever produced.

All of the projectiles in the Quik-Shok family of products were designed to eliminate over-penetration and minimize ricochet.

The Quik-Shok Sabot Slug either separates into three pieces when penetrating a liquid or tissue target or expands to a large, ellipsoidal shape when impacting a hard surface. This transformation drastically reduces its velocity and energy and limits its post-impact range. This, of course, minimizes the threat to innocent bystanders.

penetrating a liquid or tissue target, the Quik-Shok Sabot Slug penetration is automatically limited as the projectile splits into three segments, each comprising 1/3 of the projectile's initial mass. In almost every case, the segments remain in the target. Perfect for the urban settings.

Since target resistance increases with velocity, high velocity close range expansion is very rapid. This expansion occurs just prior to the patented Quik-Shok separation producing an effect similar to a parachute opening behind a dragster. A proportionally greater amount of energy and momentum are used up per inch of travel.

At lower down-range velocity, there is a delay in expansion and separation. This means that more of the slug's available momentum is conserved over a longer period of time. A slug traveling over a greater distance has its entire mass to assist in target penetration over a longer period of time.

When tested on cinder block, the Quik-Shok Sabot penetrated and pulverized the block. The slug was retrieved from sand with no signs of splitting.

The next test was to put a block of 10% ballistic gelatin behind the block, and shoot the block at 15 yards. The Quik-Shok Sabot Slug went through the cinder block, penetrated 12 inches of gelatin and opened up with a circle of dispersion of 5 inches. No other slug performs this well!

Quik-Shok Sabot Slugs are loaded to 1,500 fps. The patented Quik-Shok slug is .68 caliber as opposed to the .50 caliber slug that most other 12 Gauge sabot slugs use. The Quik-Shok slug weighs 1 1/8 oz. (492 grains). The pure lead Quik-Shok slug is contained within a collapsible, four-petal polymer cup which falls away upon exiting the muzzle. A nylon pusher disk acts as a buffer between it and the base of the slug. Unlike solid, hourglass-type sabots, the collapsible cup tempers recoil by modifying the impulse curve. This results in a milder perceived recoil. The wad also eliminates barrel leading for faster, easier gun cleaning.

The Quik-Shok Sabot Slug deliivers amazing accuracy from both rifled and smooth bore barrels. Three-shot groups of 1.5" at 70 yards are common. Upon firing, the slug expands radially inside the polymer cup. In a very real sense, the slug is final-swaged in the bore. This provides a custom-fit, regardless of barrell dimensions.

The unique performance of the Quik-Shok patented projectile makes it the most effective product of its type ever available to Law Enforcement.

Quik-Shok's superior performance will make the difference on the street. Recent tests at a major police agency produced the following results:

* Segment Dispersion is the pattern the three pieces take as they angle away from the center of impact.

This picture at impact illustrates the devastating power of the Quik-Shok 12 gauge Sabot Slug projectile! The 45 pound block of 10% Ballistics gelatin has been lifted from the stand. The slug split into three segments and remained in the gelatin.

Close-up of the gelatin block showing the three segments after they have been stopped in the block. The circle of dispersion from center is six inches.

In this picture, a 5" thick gelatin block was been shot at close range with the Quik-Shok 12 gauge Sabot slug. Had this been a larger block of gelatin, each of the three QS12MPRS Sabot slug pieces would penetrate an average of 13" to 15". The three pieces would come to rest in a triangular pattern ("circle of dispersion") no less than six inches apart.
